Almost six months in the city.

October 23rd, 2006

[Note: This post was originally posted on my MySpace blog and has been moved here in an attempt to consolidate all of my earlier posts.]

My birthday on the fifteenth marked the fifth month since I’ve been living in Chicago. Now, in less than a month, I’ll have been here for half of a year, and I’m still loving every bit of it. The things I’ve seen, places I’ve been, people I’ve met, etc. have all helped to really put a new perspective on my life. I’ve finally started to really understand where I’ve been, where I’m going, and what I really want out of my life.

I’m happier now than I was back in Ohio. I’ve found a great apartment, I’ve made some great friends, I’ve secured a great full-time job (although that damn nine-to-five bollucks certainly does wear you down after a while), and for now, all is well.

It seems I was always too busy throughout most of college to even really stop and think about anything in great depth. Now, I’m at the point of my life where I’ve started to take the time to reflect on the things I do and am figuring things out on my own.

I’m sure that sooner or later I’ll be ready to move on elsewhere, but for the time being Chicago will do just fine.

In the meantime, I’ve got two new web sites to redesign [Note: This was one of them.] and several other projects that I’ll be working on over the next couple of months. Should be a lot of fun and I’ll keep everyone posted about them.
