Busy busy, as usual.
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007It’s been a little over a month since my last post, and lots has definitely happened over that period of time. I finally got the raise I was looking for, have moved to Andersonville, and am busier than ever with work, freelance, and life in general.
Despite all the craziness, I managed to sneak in a little vacation time and spent last weekend in southern Illinois/St. Louis area. Everyone at the office got the day off on Good Friday, so after work on Thursday we headed south for a long weekend and a great time. I got to experience the Gateway Arch, parts of downtown, some of the nicer neighborhoods, and a crazy bar underneath one of the viaducts. It was a great trip and I can’t wait to go back.
Whereas last weekend was nice and relaxing, this weekend will be hell on wheels. I have a postcard, some exterior signage, and two web sites that all need to be worked on. If I have any free time, I plan to go back and finish the templates and backend for the blog (astute visitors might have noticed that 117L breaks in a few places, oops).
Work at Gams has been going strong, and the workload has been reduced slightly now that we’ve got another art director besides myself. We’ve been spending a lot of time working on developing collateral for a new redistribution company we branded. Everything from a 2 minute launch video to brochures and PowerPoints for their sales team. The hours are still unethical, but the raise I received has calmed me down a little bit. I’m still waiting to hear if I get moved into the office across the way, but I’m happy for now.
More later, but back to work for now.
